Risk management

The department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture is excited to invite you to participate in a Risk Management training program hosted by Jeff Jackson, Ph. D.

About the course:

The course will provide participants with the opportunity to bolster their risk management knowledge. Topics will include:

  • Sector-specific risk management.
  • Risk assessments and legal requirements.
  • Individualized operation’s risk management plan.

How it works:

An introductory risk management webinar will be open to all tourism operators. Following the introductory course will be four sector specific sessions: Outdoor Adventure, Trails, Hunting and Fishing, and Festivals and Events. After participating in the two online courses, you are invited to join an in-person workshop where the stated goal is building an individualized operations’ risk management plan with direct coaching from the workshop host, Jeff Jackson, Ph D.

*It is mandatory to attend both webinar sessions in order to participate in the in-person workshop.

*If you are interested and unable to attend the webinars, please reach out to JAMES.WOODS3@GNB.CA

About the instructor:

Jeff is an Adventure Tourism college, he operates a fly-fishing guide service, and has worked as a trail manager for both summer and winter trail centres. His practical approach to risk management gets you to apply industry expectations to your own risk planning.
